So, my brother and sister-in-law have been in town this week for a visit, and today we went out to lunch along with my parents. My car was parked in the driveway – with its kinda subtle (but still there!) Flynn Lives bumper sticker – and as we’re pulling out in my mom’s van:

Brother: Who’s Flynn?
Me: LOLOLOL
Mom: What?
Brother: She has a bumper sticker that says “Flynn Lives.”
Me: LOL Yeah…that’s my, uh…geek tag.
Mom: lol, yeah, that’s pretty geeky. **special note here – geeks are quite common in my family (pretty much the norm), including both my parents, and nothing to be ashamed of**
Brother: So who’s Flynn?
Mom: *areyouforserious? stare*
Me: *still loling*
Sister-in-law: What’s up?
Brother: She has a bumper sticker that says “Flynn Lives,” so who’s Flynn?
Mom: *Ishouldn’thavetoexplainthis stare* …TRON.
Sister-in-law: Ohhh.
Brother: …Oh. …So which one is Flynn? The old guy or the young one?
Me: *still loling, forever*

I was definitely a bit surprised that my sister-in-law got the reference (she’s not really big into sci-fi; I had no idea whether or not they’d even seen Legacy), but not at all surprised that my brother was the one who noticed the sticker. It’s been on there since March 13th, and he’s the first who’s noticed. 😐 (He was also the only one who noticed when I first started wearing contacts several years ago.)

Plenty of things to do today, got some done. Felt pretty blah and procrastinate-y.
