i kinda did this already once ! this is deadman, who i guess is a fusion, just not a gem fusion,,,,i mean all kinds of shit happens to these characters i feel like sharing a body would be pretty tame by comparison
deadman is shockingly harmonious MOST of the time. wades admiration of spider man kinda nullifies a lot of potential self doubt, so while deadman may be annoyingly self-aggrandizing, hes actually not rly victim to any of either characters usual insecurities or doubts. he doesn’t worry or care about anything
although deaman has both wade an peters powers, he also has something a little extra that happens when spider mans spider sense mixes with deadpools weird fourth wall omnipotence, which manifests as a weird sort of cassandra syndrome. deadman has nearly complete knowledge of the future at all times, but as such he has this total,,,,existential ABSENCE. he doesn’t care about anything because hes’ read this book front to back and knows nobody will believe him about anything. deadpool is only sometimes conscious of being a comic book character, only SOMETIMES has ominpotent knowledge, and almost always forgets it. but deadman doesn’t have those memory problems and has a peculiar “sense” about the future and even the way hes being “written.” deadman seems actively aware that he is “entertainment,” but the resulting desire to perform causes him to get pretty fucking,,chaotic neutral.
hes also pretty definitely bisected. both “peter” and “wade” appear as distinct personalities, although neither of them are really their full complete selves bc they fluctuate between being super distinct and a little less so, speaking at once or over each other AS deadman. peter seems to be in control most of the time, at least primarily, but wade has total panic button control over deadman’s body, which can be bad. wade can essentially usurp total control at any time, which can be disastrous
it can also freak the “peter” side out really bad when Deadman views the future or has knoweldge of his own status as a fictional character. peter parker isnt really meant to KNOW that stuff the way deadpool does, and it sends him into a bawling mess of nonsense if deadman starts to dig too deep into what he thinks the future will be. most of the time hes just like, “oh, well, i know this because its true, like the grass is green, but nobody would believe me” but some of the time its “oh god what am i who is this whats going on,” followed by bouts of pretty severe paranoia
deadman also doesn’t hold much back in terms of strength, unlike peter parker. because he has a very laissez faire attitude about life in general as a result of his, uh, “fourth wall sense.” that means he might very well flip a fucking bus or punch a hole in somebody without really meaning to bc deadpool had the controls or just bc peter forgot ot rein him in.
in a way deadman can actually be a lot worse than either peter or deadpool on their own bc hes so detached from his own world and existence. hes less outwardly dangerous, but he Does Not Care about what happens to people because, eh, its a comic book/movie/fanfiction, theyll come back. that enables him to be a terrifying force to soulless destruction if he goes unchecked, or if wade an peter dont remain emotionally invested in each other, deadman as a relationship, AND the people around them. it takes conscious effort for deadman to care about anything, but he can be very loving and fun if that effort goes in properly
