billy hargrove/steve harrington (stranger things)

by @toast-ranger-to-a-stranger and brawlite

After the party, Steve is hungover and really not expecting anyone to show up on his doorstep. He’s certainly not expecting Billy Hargrove.

Steve can’t help but lean away, sliding back a step, knocking back against the counter with a little grunt. “[You] missed me?” Steve asks, more than a bit dubious.

“Yeah,” Billy says, stealing the space Steve just vacated by crowding back in again. “Without you to play with in basketball, how am I supposed to keep myself entertained? I’m bored, pretty boy. And you’re my favorite distraction.”

“Distraction,” Steve repeats with a scoff, a shudder rippling through him as Billy presses that much closer– and Steve places his hand on Billy’s chest, stops him, Billy’s eyes a bit wild and so blue when Steve meets his gaze again. “What the fuck are you talking about, Billy? You want me to entertain you?”

“Well, if you wouldn’t mind,” Billy says, grinning with all of his goddamn teeth.

When medication says “do not operate heavy machinery” they’re probably mainly referring to cars, but my mind always goes to forklift.

It has honestly never occurred to me that this warning was about cars and not construction equipment

I’d always assumed the “drive or operate heavy machinery” bit was talking about 2 separate (though kind of related) things!

“do not drive” (i.e., drive cars) / “or operate heavy machinery” (i.e., use forklifts)
