What if, after the confrontation with Luke, Ben/Kylo went to the temple and told the others that Luke had tried to kill him. Some believed him and joined him (the soon-to-be KoR), while others assumed that he had flipped to dark and killed Luke and so they tried to kill him (since they trusted Luke’s judgement, and if he did try to kill Ben then clearly that was the right thing to do). Maybe Kylo and the KoR killed the others out of self-defense rather than because they were trying to eliminate the Jedi.
Rarely have I ever stumbled across a fanfic that is as human and unforgivingly raw as The Kubler-Ross Theory by antivenom. Wade and Peter are written in such a realistic and intimate way—from the witty, dry quips to the minute and nervous habits—that I have to pause and remind myself that this is fiction. Please give it a read. You won’t regret it. Well, maybe the tears, but that is a small price to pay for an emotional masterpiece.
