I’m gonna say it

Carlton Drake fighting Eddie Brock without their respective symbiotes intact was fucking hilarious because you got this veggie smoothie-slurping twink trying to fight this garbage-eating, tater tot-filled twunk at an air shuttle takeoff site like that’s trying to one-up the airport parking lot fight from Civil War in all the wrong ways. It’s like a noodle slapping at a breadstick.

And the only thing that could’ve made that scene ever better would be if you played the Pon Farr trial music from Star Trek over it. Cinematic masterpiece of our era.

Oh my GOD, somebody do the thing, I’m begging here.

Yknow what I loved about Venom, other than like… everything??

That Eddie was just so…not what you’d expect a main male character to be???

Like

  • He screamed a lot and I mean a LOT, and instead of that bs “AAAA” most men in movies make, he was actually screaming/squealing and not just for jokes but because humans sometimes make those noises
  • He was just so lost?? Like he was a total wreck and it was portrayed So Well
  • Even when he was so poor he couldn’t pay his bills, he still remained generous, like “yeah, I have very little but others have even less, I may be in a shitty situation but I can help some people I know who’s lives are even shittier”
  • He asked for help???? Lots of times????? When he was on the motorcycle and begged Venom to do something (idk how that sounded in English but in the dub he was super panicked and practically begging), he asked for help from Anne and Dan and his friend at that building
  • Speaking of his friend, the way he begged Venom not to hurt the mustache guy because “he’s my friend, he’s a good man, he works 3 shifts to support his family” MY HEART

I could go on and on because I love this movie so much and Eddie was just such an amazing character and I love him and I love venom a lot!! Thank u!! If u wanna add on pls do

Just something about the shot of him and Annie in bed got me, like he was CURLED around her, like all the way, holding her close in a way that a lot of men in “shots after sex” don’t. Like he had to physically untangle himself from her before he got up. That’s the first thing I noticed like right away and it already told me I was going to love him

He’s not a dick to his ex’s new partner, and in fact is capable of being friendly, working together with him and accepting his help, even though it’s implied he still has feelings for Anne. The bar should not be this low but it’s still great to see dudes getting on with each other in these circumstances rather than getting all macho – Ant Man is another good example.

I have identified the song that perfectly matches the energy of the Venom movie and it is the vocals of “Head Like a Hole” backed by the Lisa-Frank-in-sound-form bubbly pop instrumentation of “Call Me Maybe.”

TRYING TO BE DARK AND EDGY AND ANGRY but the essential! rom com! nature! just keeps breaking through!!

Listen, yes of course Eddie Brock is an exceptional example of an alien fucker but I need everyone to understand that the symbiote is canonically from a planet where not only does everything reproduce asexually but the even idea of wanting any kind of relationship with a host was considered so insane and devious that the Venom symbiote was sentenced to death for it. And consider how weird a human must be to them. Humans are as much aliens to symbiotes as symbiotes are to humans.

What I’m saying is in terms of being an alien fucker, NOBODY beats the Venom Symbiote.
