This bit breaks my heart everytime I see it.

The one time that Erik/Magneto actually needs rescuing, and he asks it of Charles – something that Charles would do for anyone else in the world.

And Charles says no.

(And then he finds out that Erik’s been getting beaten, and I wonder what he would have done if the other stuff hadn’t happened.)
